My passion for midwifery began with a deep desire to serve women and families during one of the most meaningful and transformative seasons of life.

I was raised among strong, loving women, and from an early age I learned the value of walking alongside others with compassion, encouragement, and steady support.

I believe birth is not only a physical experience, but a powerful and life-changing journey. My goal is to provide personalized, relationship-based care that helps each mother feel safe, informed, and empowered. I strive to equip families with education, confidence, and practical tools while offering calm guidance throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I am a mother of six children, and my own experiences have deeply shaped my heart for this work. In 2018, I founded Abundant Life Midwifery to provide individualized care that honors each family’s unique story and birth goals. I have trained under 11 midwives, gaining extensive hands-on experience in a wide variety of birth settings and scenarios. To date, I have attended over 650 births, and it continues to be one of my greatest privileges to witness the strength of women as they bring life into the world.

I am a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) credentialed through NARM (North American Registry of Midwives) and I hold a Tennessee Midwifery License. I also serve as the West Tennessee Representative with the Tennessee Midwifery Association, advocating for midwifery care and supporting the families and professionals in our region.

In addition, I was one of the original founders of the Memphis Birth Collective, and I continue to serve on the board as we work together to strengthen collaboration among birth professionals and expand support for families in our community.

Student Midwife and Doula

Leagan Britt, Assistant Midwife

Hi! I’m Leagan Britt, a third-year student midwife scheduled to graduate and license in 2026.

I’ve spent the last three years training under Kimberly Daniels and supporting the families under the care of Abundant Life Midwifery. These years of hands-on experience and deep-rooted wisdom has prepared me to serve and care for families as I step into licensure.

I’ve been involved in birth work for over six years, beginning as a doula before stepping into the path of midwifery. I’m a BEST-certified doula trained in peanut ball use, childbirth educator, and am experienced in supporting a wide variety of birth preferences and settings. I’ve also attended up-to-date trainings on suturing, lab work, and emergency care, as well as hold current NRP and CPR certifications.

Alongside my professional training, I’m a mother of three, with personal birthing experiences ranging from a hospital birth with an epidural to a peaceful home birth. These experiences have deeply informed my belief in respectful, individualized, family-centered care.

As I prepare to graduate, I’m passionate about walking with families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with knowledge, compassion, and confidence.

The Midwifery Model of Care

Individualized Care: Midwives prioritize the person giving birth, as well as their specific needs and preferences.

Holistic Approach: This model acknowledges the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit in addition to their overall well-being.

Trust in Physiological Birth: This model advocates for a dependence on the natural processes of birth and is rooted in the belief that most people can give birth without unnecessary medical interventions.
